These rich orange-yolked eggs have a sweetness that takes breakfast to a new dimension. It&#8217;s best to go to the Co-op on Tuesday when the eggs are delivered. Later in the week you might be disappointed. They sell out quickly. You can also find them at New Frontiers in Solvang and San Luis Obispo.<\/p>\n<p>Dave bought this carton of eggs on Tuesday. I love opening the box to see the variety of eggs. Sometimes there are deep rust-colored eggs. Often there are blue eggs in the mix. Some are speckled, some are not. Some are small and some are large.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Eggs.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-84\" title=\"Eggs\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Eggs-300x189.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"189\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Eggs-300x189.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Eggs.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>My son Shaun&#8217;s chickens each lay a unique signature egg. Two lay blue eggs and two lay brown but the shades of blue and brown are different. Dare 2 Dream sells chickens and coops for those who want to raise their own chickens. (Note there are chickens crossing the road&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s easy to see why their eggs taste so good.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Grass.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-102\" title=\"Grass\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Grass-300x209.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"209\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Grass-300x209.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Grass.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>This is a chicken paradise with plenty of fresh grass, worms, and bugs to eat.<\/p>\n<p>We headed up the road to the chicken house with our friend Shyama.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/UpTheRoad.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-104\" title=\"UpTheRoad\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/UpTheRoad-300x201.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/UpTheRoad-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/UpTheRoad.jpg 641w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The chicken house is where the young chicks live until they are big enough to forage outside. For our baby chicks, it was a large box in Shaun&#8217;s music room with a light to keep them warm. That worked until they started flying around the room and hanging out on his music stand.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/ChickenHouse1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-107\" title=\"ChickenHouse\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/ChickenHouse1-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/ChickenHouse1-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/ChickenHouse1.jpg 722w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>This was much more spacious, but Saraphina said it was &#8220;a little stinky.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Thinking2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-113\" title=\"Thinking\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Thinking2-300x252.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"252\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Thinking2-300x252.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nancyoster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Thinking2.jpg 565w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Back outside there were chickens on the road, in the grass, and in the bushes. Saraphina said, &#8220;I think maybe we can&#8217;t find the mama.&#8221; I agreed.
